A WILD WOODS WINTER: :
NEW JEWELLERY BY JANE DODD
In her new work, Jane Dodd takes inspiration from an old gothic form of candelabra called Leuchterweibchen.
These carved sculptural figures were attached to antler and horns, studded with candles and hung for lighting in the grand halls of European houses.
Jane has adapted the form for jewellery, carving her own antler or horn shapes from fine woods and shell. Animal and human parts have been carved from wax, cast in silver or gold, and attached to the "antlers", sometimes with the addition of precious or semi-precious stones.
