| ROB UPRITCHARD's work is influenced by New Zealand's beautiful outdoor environment and unique culture. "My practice is a conversation between nature and human experience. Seeing the quality and beauty of New Zealand stone (kohatu) it was inevitable for me that it would become a major part of my practice as a sculptor. I aim to emphasize the natural beauty of stone while re-positioning it, with minimal interference, into a human environment. I love the basic forms that nature creates and find immense satisfaction in working these into jewellery". |
