| ELFI SPIEWACK emigrated to New Zealand in 1999. Born in Germany, she gained work experience with jewellers in Montreal, Canada and Berlin, Germany, before starting her jewellery apprenticeship at the Goldsmith and Watchmaker School in Pforzheim, Germany. From 1991-96, Elfi studied Jewellery Design at the University College of Design, also in Pforzheim, and worked after her graduation as a freelance designer for jewellery and product design companies. In 2001, Elfi established 'The Filing Kabinett', a workshop in central Christchurch, which she still shares with other jewellers. Elfi's work has been widely exhibited in Germany, The Netherlands, New Zealand, USA and Australia since 1993. |
